How should I prepare for my cosmetic injection session?
We recommend that all of our clients prepare at least 3-5 days prior and avoid all substances that may thin the blood and increase the chance of bruising, like Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Alcohol.
We also ask that our clients avoid natural substances, like: Gingko, Garlic, Vitamin E, Fish oil, St. John’s Wort, Flaxseed Oils, etc. Let your practitioner know if you are on any prescribed medications or anticoagulants (like warfarin, coumadin). Never stop taking your prescribed medications before talking to your doctor.

How do cosmetic injections work?
Neuromodulator injections, such as Botox®, gently relax specific facial muscles by reducing the signals that tell them to contract. This helps soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, especially those caused by repeated facial expressions like smiling or frowning, so that you look naturally refreshed and have a smoother look, all without freezing your features and their functionality.
How long do neuromodulator treatment results last?
Every person is unique, and the outcome depends on the specific neuromodulator treatment we curate for you and the area you choose to focus on. However, most of our clients enjoy their aesthetic transformation for about 3-4 months, depending on the area treated and how their body responds. Touch-ups and follow-ups are always an option to ensure you’re happy and confident with your skin journey.
Is there any downtime after neuromodulator treatments like Botox® or Dysport®?
You will find that there is no major downtime required. You may have slight redness or swelling at the injection sites, and some clients may find they have minor bruising depending on the treated area, but it fades within a couple of days.
Are there any side effects?
Each client is different, and it depends on the area that is treated; however, there may be mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site, which is totally normal. More serious side effects are rare but will be discussed during your consultation to ensure you’re informed and confident in your curated skin journey plan.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
During your consultation, we will always provide you with a curated pre- and post-treatment care guide to ensure you’re confidently prepared for your session with us. We do ask that our clients avoid alcohol, blood thinners (like ibuprofen, aspirin), and certain supplements (like vitamin E, fish oil, garlic) for 3-5 days beforehand to reduce bruising.
Will I still look like myself?
Yes! With our curated and holistic approach to all of our treatments, we ensure that each session is subtle and customized. The goal is always to refresh – not freeze – so you’ll still look like you, just a little more well-rested and renewed.
How long does it take to see a transformation?
Each client is unique in how their body responds; however, with neuromodulators like Botox®, the infected area may have subtle swelling or bruising, which is totally normal. Once the bruising has cleared and swelling has subsided, clients typically start seeing transformation within 3–5 days, with full results at around the 2-week mark.
Do cosmetic injections hurt?
Comfort and safety are our highest priority for our clients here at Natology. Most of our clients describe it as a tiny pinch. These sessions are quick (about 15–20 minutes), and discomfort is minimal as we can use a numbing agent if desired.
Can I wear makeup after my treatment?
We ask our clients to refrain from any strenuous activity and from applying makeup for at least 24 hours and to keep the area clean. We also recommend the use of Advil or Arnica if the bruising or swelling is more severe. But do not fret, we guide you through pre- and post-treatment care so that you’re confident and informed the entire way.
Who is an ideal fit for neuromodulators?
Anyone 18+ in good health who wants to reduce fine lines, refine their features or prevent wrinkles. It’s also helpful for those experiencing excessive migraines. We also want to ensure that our clients know that this treatment is not suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or live with certain neurological conditions.
What areas can it be used for?
These treatments are helpful in reducing the appearance of crows’ feet, glabellar (in between the eyebrows), frown lines, and/or downward lines around the mouth.
