Custom Laser Resurfacing & Micro Laser Peels
Custom Laser Resurfacing and Micro Laser Peels are advanced treatments designed to improve skin tone, texture, pigmentation, and overall skin quality by stimulating controlled renewal within the skin.
Depending on the depth of your treatment:
- Micro Laser Peels provide light resurfacing with minimal downtime
- Custom Laser Resurfacing (Deep Fractional + Micro) delivers more intensive renewal for deeper wrinkles, acne scarring, and texture concerns
Both approaches work by activating your body’s natural healing response, encouraging collagen production and revealing healthier, more refined skin over time.
Proper preparation and aftercare are essential for safe healing and optimal results.
Pre-Treatment Care
Skin Preparation
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks prior
- Use SPF 30+ daily leading up to treatment
- Keep skin well hydrated in the days leading up to treatment
Product & Medication Restrictions
- Discontinue retinoids 5–7 days prior
- Avoid irritating or active skincare for 2–3 days prior
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and blood-thinning supplements for 72 hours (or as medically appropriate)
- Avoid alcohol the day of treatment (can increase inflammation)
Medical Considerations
- If you have a history of cold sores, antiviral medication may be required prior to treatment
- Avoid treatment if skin is irritated, inflamed, or compromised
- Inform your provider of any medical conditions or medications
Post-Treatment Care
What to Expect
- Redness, warmth, and sensitivity immediately after treatment
- Swelling may occur, especially with deeper resurfacing
- Skin will begin to peel or flake within 1–5 days depending on treatment depth
Healing time varies:
- Micro Laser Peel: ~2–3 days of mild redness/flaking
- Custom Resurfacing: ~5–7 days of peeling, pinkness, and recovery
- (More intensity = more downtime — and typically more visible results.)
First 24–72 Hours (Critical Healing Phase)
- Avoid heat (hot showers, saunas, workouts)
- Avoid touching, picking, or rubbing the skin
- Do not cleanse the skin the evening of treatment (if instructed)
- Begin gentle cleansing the following day using hands only
- Keep skin continuously hydrated and protected
Attention: Do not allow the skin to dry out – proper healing depends on moisture support
Healing Phase (3–10 Days)
- Expect peeling and flaking – allow this to shed naturally
- Do not pick or remove peeling skin (prevents scarring)
- Avoid active skincare (retinoids, acids, exfoliants) for 10–14 days
- Avoid makeup until the skin barrier has healed
- Avoid exercise, sweating, and friction until advised
Ongoing Care
- Apply SPF 30+ daily once the skin has healed
- Avoid direct sun exposure for several weeks (up to 2 months for deeper treatments)
- Resume active skincare gradually under guidance
- Maintain hydration and barrier support
Supporting Your Results
Laser resurfacing creates a controlled injury – your results depend heavily on how your body repairs and rebuilds the skin.
Hydration + Skin Repair
- Increase water intake before and after treatment
- Prioritize protein intake (collagen is built from amino acids)
Nutritional Support
Focus on nutrients that directly support healing:
- Vitamin C (collagen production)
- Protein (tissue repair)
- Zinc + minerals (skin regeneration)
- Healthy fats (barrier support and elasticity)
Reduce Inflammation
For optimal healing, try to minimize:
- Alcohol
- Excess sugar
- Highly processed foods
This helps reduce unnecessary inflammation during recovery.
Lifestyle Considerations
- Prioritize sleep and recovery (this is when regeneration occurs)
- Avoid excessive heat or stress on the body during healing
- Follow your recommended treatment plan and intervals
Treatment Notes
- Results are gradual and cumulative, not immediate
- You may notice improvement in tone quickly, but collagen remodeling takes weeks to months
- Deeper concerns (wrinkles, acne scars) typically require a series of treatments
- Temporary redness, dryness, and sensitivity are expected parts of the healing process
